This policy explains how information is handled in FERAL: Project Lazarus, its informational website, and communications with its developer. The game practices described here apply to version 0.2.4.

Who is responsible

Francisco Manuel Mier y Teran Almazan is the developer of FERAL: Project Lazarus and the person responsible for the personal information handled as described in this policy.

For privacy questions, requests, or support, email fixandservice@outlook.com. Use the subject “FERAL Privacy” for a privacy request.

Information used by the game

FERAL is a single-player VR game. Its current version does not require a developer account and does not include developer-operated advertising, behavioral analytics, multiplayer services, a mailing list, or a developer-operated cloud save service.

Headset and controller movement. The game processes the position and orientation of your headset and controllers, controller buttons and grips, tracking availability, and movement derived from those inputs. This makes the view, movement, menus, claw combat, and gesture controls work. The game uses these inputs during play; its gameplay code does not save a history of your physical movements or transmit that history to the developer.

XR rendering permissions. Version 0.2.4 includes an eye-tracking permission through its Unity OpenXR rendering integration. On compatible hardware, that integration may request permission for eye-tracked rendering. FERAL’s gameplay code does not record eye movements, use them for profiling, or send them to the developer. Device permission controls and the platform provider’s practices also apply.

Progress and preferences. The game saves unlocked levels, earned upgrade currency, total defeated enemies, campaign completion, upgrades, and the walking-sway setting in the app’s local storage on your device. It uses this information to restore your progress and preferences. The developer does not receive these saves through a game server. Device or platform backup features may separately copy or restore app data depending on your settings.

Diagnostics. The game and operating system can create local technical logs, including startup messages, errors, level information, and combat events. The developer has not enabled Unity Analytics, Unity Ads, or Unity cloud crash reporting in this version. If you choose to send a log, screenshot, or recording for support, the developer receives what you send. Please remove information unrelated to your request.

The game does not request microphone, camera-image, contacts, or precise geographic-location permissions. VR tracking is provided by the headset’s platform; this is different from the game accessing raw camera images.

Information used by this website

This informational website is hosted through OpenAI’s Sites service. OpenAI hosts, maintains, and supports the site on the developer’s behalf. The site has no newsletter registration, developer-operated user account, purchase form, advertising pixel, or developer-added analytics service. Its own code does not set tracking cookies or use browser storage to build a visitor profile.

Hosting and delivery providers, including OpenAI and Cloudflare, may process technical request information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser or device information, timestamps, and security logs to deliver, operate, and protect the website. Provider processing and retention follow the applicable service terms and privacy notices. Security functions may use technologies necessary for their operation. See the ChatGPT Sites Terms, OpenAI Privacy Policy, and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Contacting the developer

If you send an email, the developer receives your email address, any name you provide, the message, attachments, and associated correspondence information. These are used to answer your request, investigate a problem, and keep an appropriate record of the interaction. Sending a support email does not subscribe you to marketing.

The contact mailbox uses Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft processes email and related service information under its applicable terms and Microsoft Privacy Statement. Your own email provider may also process the message. A contact link opens your email application; it does not silently send a message.

Platform services and sharing

Meta provides the headset operating system, account, store, device tracking, and any enabled platform backup or diagnostic services. Meta may process account, purchase, device, usage, and diagnostic information independently of FERAL’s gameplay code. Its practices are described in the Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy and related Meta notices.

FERAL is made with Unity. The optional Unity advertising, analytics, and cloud diagnostics services described above are disabled in this version. Unity’s own practices where its services apply are described in the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

The developer does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Information you provide may be handled by the hosting and email providers needed to operate this website and respond to you. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law or to address a genuine security incident or legal claim. Third-party services have their own policies and controls; this policy does not replace them.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local game progress remains on your device until you remove or replace the app’s saved data. You can use your device’s app-storage controls, where available, to clear FERAL’s data. This resets your progress and settings. Uninstalling may remove local data, but platform backups can be retained or restored separately. Use the platform’s backup controls as well if you want to remove a backup. Contact the developer if you need help identifying the relevant controls.

Support correspondence is kept only as needed to handle the request, resolve related issues, and meet applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations. You may ask for it to be deleted. Information that must legally be retained, or remains temporarily in a service provider’s backup or recovery systems, may not disappear immediately. Provider retention periods are governed by their applicable services and policies.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive a copy of, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Email fixandservice@outlook.com to make a request. Please describe what you want and provide enough information to locate the relevant correspondence. Only information reasonably needed to verify and handle the request will be requested. You may also contact your local data-protection authority where applicable.

Contact the developer for information processed on the developer’s behalf, including relevant requests involving service providers. For information that Meta, OpenAI, Microsoft, Cloudflare, or your email provider handles independently for its own purposes, the provider’s privacy controls and request channels are available through the policies linked above.

Purposes, security, and international processing

Information is processed to provide the game’s functions, deliver and secure this website, respond to communications, and meet applicable legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, this may be providing the service you request, legitimate interests in support and security, compliance with law, or consent where required.

Access to information is limited to what is needed for these purposes. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. The hosting, platform, and email providers may process information in countries other than your own under their applicable safeguards and policies.

Adults only

FERAL contains intense fictional violence and is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The game and website are not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information, contact the email above so the request can be reviewed and the information removed where appropriate.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the game, website, services, or applicable requirements change. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page. Material changes will be described here before the corresponding new data practices are introduced where required.
